A survey by China Construction Material Leasing and Contracting Association shows significant changes in the export pattern of China's steel scaffolding and related equipment from April to May 2025. In April, the top five export value countries were Saudi Arabia (US$18.12 million), Australia (US$12.04 million), Malaysia (US$10.20 million), the US (US$9.39 million) and Thailand (US$8.90 million). In May, Australia topped with US$19.06 million, while the UAE (US$11.11 million) and Indonesia (US$9.48 million) entered the top five. Saudi Arabia and Malaysia saw their export values drop by 55.0% and 21.7% respectively.

Regionally, Southeast Asia's export volume rose 3.4% to 82,901 tons, but export value fell 21.6% to US$79.86 million. Saudi Arabia saw both volume and value halved, with exports dropping 52% to 10,737 tons and value down 55% to US$8.16 million. The US saw volume and value decline by 20.2% and 25.5% respectively. Highlights include Australia's unit price rising from US$1,332/ton to US$2,395/ton, and the UAE's export volume growing by 56%.
